Must-have Add-on. Thanks for DOM storage control.

This is by far the best cookie manager I have used, far superior and way more features than cookie monster. Allows you to create cookie exceptions only for first party or all sites, I am not sure how it does this but it prevents a super-cookie leak without actually disabling super-cookies so websites that require super-cookies still work. The only feature that may improve it a bit is to add an import/export feature to back up your cookie exception list.

I LOVE Cookie Controller! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Let me tell you why I love this cookie handler so much;

Simplicity.

The way I usually judge things is in their ease of use.

I feel that - no matter what the specific item, gadget, etc. is, the user should be able to use it 'out-of-the-box' without having to read a manual.

That's one reason I've ALWAYS - ONLY used Macs.

The item - and controlling it should feel natural to me, the user (or you) at first.

Once I become proficient in handling it, I may choose to use the manual to learn more complicated features.

Cookie Controller (CC) exceeds in this.

On first use, you have a little icon (I have mine in the Status Bar - bottom of the screen), which, when pressed, you see three colored indicators - each representing HOW Cookie Controller will handle the cookies for the site you're CURRENTLY on; 'red' - CC will destruct the cookie IMMEDIATELY after closing the site's tabs. Yellow' - CC will destruct the cookies after you quit the browser, and 'Green' - CC will not do anything to them.

When you first run CC, CC will do an inspection of all the cookies you currently have (while it's doing this, your browser will not be 'stuck.' It will, however make setting your personal site-per-site rules hard, so, just wait until this process is done - only a couple of minutes or so).

After this initial period, you're ready to go.

Every time you go to a site, it'll be CC's first time,' so, this is when you should fine-tune how you want CC to handle that site's cookies (CC - if left alone - will just handle every site in the same manner, which, if that's ok with you, then you're fine).

Since most of us have site's we go to on a regular (daily) basis, this 'setting up' is really no inconvenience. The only time AFTER having set CC up you' need to deal with it, is when you go to a new site for the first time (which, as I said before - if you leave CC alone, it'll handle the new site's in whatever manner you'd initially chose).

After that point, CC became unnoticeable to me - and will be for you, as well.

save exception list Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

this is a very useful addons, but you must add a function to save the cookie's exceptions list, because when i want clear all personal data, i wouldn't lose the list with the exception

Setting temporary permission by middle/ctrl click on permission button not work for me. It worked only for short time around version 3.

Unable to do sync with Firefox 30 when setting the cookies as block for all sites Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

From Firefox 30, there have new sync manager, but if set the cookies as block for all sites, it is unable to login the sync account. And it is no way to configure the exception like the other website.

Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (3.3) abgegeben.

The new sync requires an account at Firefox Accounts. You will need an exception to allow cookies for account.services.mozilla.com (or services.mozilla.com or just mozilla.com). I might add a specific option for this when I look at all the Australis changes.

Like other posters here I think I've tried all the cookie managers on this site and this one remains my favourite.

It has more abilities/options than I use (or indeed understand) but what I want it to do, it does perfectly.

If I could have one request, it would be for a whitelist export/save function.

Excellent and easy... Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

After trying most of the cookie manager addons over the years, I finally tried this one. It is exactly what one needs. There is a myriad of ways to manage cookies exactly as the user wishes, and not as the developer thinks you should. Versatile: yes. Complicated: No.

Excellent and thank you!

Nice Job! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

(Review for Cookes Controller 3.2) For many years I've been turning cookies on and off (mostly "off", but you know the ones you need it "on" for) -- not sure just how much good it does to have it off most of the time, but it's a very strong habit and has been something of an inconvenience. This is perfect for me, great quality and interface, clear instructions for use. It's good that it's easy to set up for novices to make it fully functional to do the essential job, without having to get tangled in the more advanced features --- 2 or 3 difficulty levels, with little need for most to go to levels 2 and 3. It seems the best add-on for this purpose.

Good work! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

I like that the add-on uses Firefox's native capabilities and settings to the extent possible. For consistency, I suggest adding a filter option for the Exceptions dialog.

For daily operations I use the menu rather than the toolbar buttons. I would prefer that the setup options be removed from the menu and relocated to the Add-ons tab. Also, it would be nice to be able to suppress the icon in the tools menu.

Does what it says and says what it does. I sent in a list of additional features that really would make this 5+ stars.

Default selection! Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

my configuration was "cookies off", "session only"

I found another way, since there are two similar buttons one with an arrow and the other without arrow, when clicking the one with the little arrow it opens a context menu and I can select 3 main options, 1-allow cookies(green), 2-allow only as 1st party(green with something red), 3-only for the session(purple)

is there any hidden option to set a default selection when toggling the "ARROWLESS" button so instead of 1,2(green) I get 3(purple)?

I use mousekeys, and it was easy for me for each site to just click a button to toggle from "deny" to "session only" but I dont know how I manged to configured it that way!

The default permission button action is learned from the permission that you use most often. On a new install it should start at "allow only as 1st party", but should rapidly learn a different setting after you use it a couple of times. To speed this learning along you can set the preference extensions.cookieController.sessionOnlyCount to a larger number.

Cookie Monster++ Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Cookie Controller is a good replacement for Cookie Monster, which hasn't been updated for over two years. With the exception of third-party cookie reporting (which I never used anyhow), Cookie Controller provides all the functions of Cookie Monster and more.

The Perm button provides the most useful information and control for me. Just a glance at the button shows me what the permissions are for the current web page. I can change the site's permissions with a right-click on the button as easily as I could with Cookie Monster. It also allows me to view any DOM storage being used by the site.

I use the Toggle button to quickly review and modify my global cookie settings without having to work my way through Firefox's Tools->Options->Privacy menu.

The Tidy button is too dangerous for my taste. An accidental click on the Tidy button may remove cookies and DOM storage that I want to keep. The developer doesn't recommend it ordinarily be used.
